The city of Vancouver has experienced
a period of steady growth over the past several years. As
more and more people from across Canada and around the world
migrate to Vancouver because of its beautiful location and
mild climate, the city's residential developers strain to
meet the rising demand for housing. As a result apartment
vacancy rates in the more popular areas of Vancouver are
usually extremely low and finding an affordable apartment
can sometimes be difficult.
One of the most desirable places
to live in Vancouver has always been the downtown peninsula.
Encompassing the downtown core, West
End, Coal Harbor and Yaletown, and surrounded by ocean,
parks and a spectacular view of the mountains, this area
boasts the reputation of being one of the most beautiful
places to live in the world.
Residents of the downtown peninsula
enjoy proximity to the major commercial center of Vancouver
as well as many parks, beaches, marinas, and of course Stanley
Park, one of the largest inner-city parks in the world.
However, for those who wish to leave the peninsula and explore
Greater Vancouver, transit service is frequent and easily
accessible.
During the day residents of Vancouver's
downtown peninsula may be seen biking, kayaking, shopping,
enjoying the cafes, or just strolling along the waterfront
seawall. At night Vancouver's entertainment district comes
to life as the many theatres, nightclubs and bars open and
people converge form all over the city to have some fun.
